Awkmute are an extremely rare and dying race of avarian humanoids found only in the lands of the Inland Sea of southern Khul. They are only encountered around the lands surrounding Assur, where they can be found in the service of the God of Decay and Decay, whom they worship. Originally the Awkmute were a secret coven of powerful Hamakei cleric's hidden with magnificent temples of Hamaskis in the Hamakei lands of Clckarraph, Chipallyr and Theepcyr in southern Khul atempting to bring down the avarian race. Upon the release of Chaos the evil cult were twisted and distorted with the vile powerful spells of the God of Disease and Decay during the release of Chaos on Khul when they for-filled their promises and inflicted terrible genocide against their own people.

If encountered they are intelligent humanoids, that appear like a cross between a human and a flightless bird with no wings. The Awkmute have twisted human-shaped arms and upper bodies but have the head and legs of a vile and twisted bird, with sagging bags around its eyes and have powerful beaks, sharp eyes and are covered with fine feathers instead of hair. When communicating they do so with their own language, ancient Hamakei that sounds like a hissing rather than actually speaking.
